Mission Statement: We engage and inform Canadian critical care nurses through education and networking and provide a strong unified national identity.
The Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses is a not for profit, specialty association founded in 1983. We are dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the quality of patient and family centered care by meeting the educational needs of critical care nurses.
Our members are critical care nurses from across Canada and abroad, who are employed, or have an interest in clinical practice, education, research or management of the critically ill, including adult, paediatric and neonatal patients.
The CACCN operates with an elected seven member volunteer Board of Directors and one staff member, our Chief Operating Officer. The Board of Directors are responsible to the strategic direction and plan for the association. The Board of Directors each chair or co-chair a National Committee: Conference Advisory, Member Relations, Partner Relations and Professional Development. The CACCN through our Editor and Editorial Review Board, produces our scholarly journal, the Canadian Journal of Critical Care Nursing™, four times annually.
